With Unifor and Peel Regional Labour Council
Who was there?
Our hybrid town hall was held at Unifor 1285 and online, and about 70 people in total attended, including 13 community organizations.
We had 4 speakers:
- Meyran Mohamed, Community Engagement Manager from Moyo Health and Community Services
- Dave Wakely, President of Peel Paramedics Union and practicing paramedic
- Ameek Singh, practicing nurse and healthcare advocate
- Josh Coles, Director of Political Action and Membership Mobilization at Unifor Canada
WHAT’S YOUR HEALTHCARE STORY?
Email us at info@bramptoncaledonhc.ca to tell us your story, or tag us on social media.
After the panel spoke, community members came forward to tell their stories and ask their questions about healthcare in Brampton and Caledon. The stories that were told and the facts that were shared were extremely moving, at times disturbing, and above all, motivating.
Volunteers from Brampton Caledon Health Coalition and from organizations at our Collaboration Station worked hard to make the evening a success!
Our partners at Unifor worked hard to plan the evening with us, telling their members by phone about the event, and running the event with us. Thank you to Jim McDowell (Food, MC) and Lori Kerr (Setup, Powerpoint and Zoom).
